Proud Star of Bethlehem

PROUD STAR OF BETHLEHEM The Christ Child was born in a stable bare Among all the animals gathered there The donkey, the cow, the dove, the sheep Watched in silence as He lay asleep But up in the Heavens, a star shone bright And to the earth it gave great light Shepherds on the hillside tending their flock Fell to the ground filled with shock The sky was filled with Angels giving praise To the God of Heaven for His marvelous ways All the sights and sounds were great to behold The greatest miracle on earth was about to unfold Still shining brightly, bringing light to the world Was the Star of Bethlehem, it's splendor unfurled If I could have been there for the world to see That Bethlehem Star would have been me 25 December 2018 For the contest sponsored by Kim Rodrigues

What a wonderful thought, Jan. If I could get Greg Barden or the Lyric Man to set it to music, that would be terrific. Maybe I'll check with them bot h.

Thank you, Eve! I hope you have a great New Year. As each year passes, I see in retrospect where I could have made the year better. I don't make New Year resolutions, but I will say that it might be better had I consciously kept in mind the real Blessings of Easter and Christmas all year long rather than just a few days before and after each event. Blessings on you in the coming year!

Isn't it wonderful how people in many parts of the world celebrate the joyous event you described so beautifully, Curtis? Congratulations on your win in Kim's contest! Best wishes, Carolyn

Thank you, Carolyn. Yes, it is wonderful. My imagination works overtime pretty often, but I would have loved to have been that star. I try to live my life before others in a way that makes me shine as brightly as it did on that night. I pray that your Christmas was a wonderful time of celebration with family and that the upcoming year will be the best ever.

So cute that you would set your eyes on the nativity scene as the STAR itself! Congrats on your win in my contest! <3 Kim
