Of Treasures Sought, Diving For Forbidden Dark Pearls
Of Treasures Sought, Diving For Forbidden Dark Pearls
I shall weave you, dear reader, words true and sincere
tho' will not be as great as those woven by poetic peers
It's truth from a life long-lived, too fast and much too wild
in the mad rush of anger, from a heartbroken child
With forlorn hope, crushed soul, and in deep, dark despair
too oft in raging heat, without purpose or will to care!
Wild young fool, hellbent on fighting this evil world
Treasures sought while diving deep, for the shiniest pearl!
Of lost loves, shattered hearts, I've had and suffered many
Yet of sweetest blessings, I have been rewarded plenty
In stark realization, this world has cut me to the bone
Immaturity, a tool used by this fool to self dethrone
And while in total chaos, I started fires I could not quell
for haunting nightmares sent my broken heart into hell!
With agony from lapping flames and deepest regrets
came punishments deserved from what rashness begets!
Her name was Beauty. She lit the stars in heavenly skies
Alluringly ravishing, soft blue, the color of her eyes
She wore a blue mini-skirt that prompted hot desires
so fierce that mere water could not quench passion's fires
In a flash my heart forbade me, words with which to speak
my knees, hard-knocking; my heart faint and then grew weak!
With that confessed, dear reader, my soul was enraptured
by this graceful lady, my heart had thus been captured!
Sad that I should have to convey this sorrowful news
Too soon she was lost to me and I crashed in shades of blues
Such rashness of youth takes a horrific toll of gifts
and within a single heartbeat my life incurred sad shifts
Had my weakness not reared its impatient, ugly head
I would not have fallen, and love would have won instead
Yet, temptation from its darkness of abodes rose up
offering the cup of a far sweeter wine that I would sup!
And in this wicked world, I heard its sworn applause
with swiftness of truth, destroyed was love's great cause
A man thus lost, thus fallen, recalls only his painful aches
and mourning sorrowed cries, "Pity me, for heaven's sake."
Yet, justice turns its blind eye and stirs his aches even more
searing flames blaze, as they relentlessly shut the door!
From such woe-begotten lessons a youth should surely learn
If you lick a raging fire, your tongue will feel the burn!
I weaved for you, dear reader, words true and sincere
tho' will not be as great as those woven by poetic peers
It's truth from a life long-lived too fast and much too wild
in the mad rush of anger, from a heartbroken child
With forlorn hope, crushed soul, and in deep, dark despair
too oft in raging heat, without purpose or will to care!
Wild young fool, lessons taught when lightning bolts hurled
sought useless treasure when the flag of lust was unfurled!

of treasures sought diving for forbidden dark pearl!)
Note: It was with sincere appreciation of her great poetic talent that I
wrote this poem after reading a truly wonderful poem she had composed.
My dear friend, Lin Lane's poem, titled, "Relieve My Heart of its Ache"
gave inspiration, poetic spirit and my muse cause for me to sit and write this piece. I then sent this piece for her to see and telling her of her inspiring poem giving rise to this creation, she graciously responded by offering to edit this poem, a very kind and generous act.
I accepted and am so truly thankful, as now its quality, its flow and its shine have all been immensely increased. I dedicate this poem to my very kind and generous dear friend, Lin Lane.. Posted today as promised after my having delayed posting due to a previous promise I made to another poet and dear friend.
