Pollution is found in our rivers and seas Of raw chemical waste and plastic Toxic pesticides are killing the bees. Mother Earth is down on her knees This man made situation is drastic Pollution is found in our rivers and seas. In forests they're cutting down the trees That is affecting everything climatic Toxic pesticides are killing the bees. Clouds of toxic dust travels on the breeze That causes many to become asthmatic Pollution is found in our rivers and seas. More pandemics are coming with disease The experts are not being overdramatic Toxic pesticides are killing the bees. Mother Earth will either burn or freeze Seeing our earth dying is quite traumatic. Hi Tom, In this brilliant villanelle, you wrap up the state of our planet: Everything we do seems to damage our environment, the cutting of trees, the use of fossil fuels, plastic waste, driving our vehicles, and so on. We all should be as sensitive as you my friend, Tom so we can save mother earth. I have been writing poems on mother earth since 1985. I have written more than 200 hundred and many have been posted on Poetrysoup. Unfortunately, people find it difficult to comprehend and more difficult to act. An excellent poem my dearest friend. Unfortunately the nukes that are keeping the peace because everyone’s petrified of starting what could be a nuclear war are indirectly killing planet earth. Some nations will never play the ‘green’ ball and if they have nukes we can’t make them. C’est la vie. Terry

Thank you very much Terry, a tricky form to write, my second villanelle, the worry is nth korea and iran are building nuclear missiles and wouldn't hesitate to use them unlike Russia, Uk and the US who'd only use them if attacked. Man will be the cause of his own destruction. Hope you're well. Tom

Thank you very much Susan, its heartbreaking to see marine life dying because they've swallowed plastic that's been dumped, Even in Antarctica traces of plastic have been found in the melting ice. I feel for generations to come, what are we leaving them. Hope you're keeping well. Tom
