Labyrinth

silk dreams
weave a path
of ancient memories
leading me towards a shared destiny
with my ancestors
blessing me with visions
they dreamt
and now I see
~inspired by my interest in finding and walking 'labyrinths' around the Midwest...

Jim congratulations on your win in the contest. This is a superb poetic piece linking you to your ancestry, recognizing you share their blood and now see through their eyes. I love this. Congratulations!!! :)Paulette

I believe there is a connection between relations/ close friends that have passed, and the their loved ones that are left behind. My father 3 days after he died sent me a life saving message. I had a dream that I saw a billboard on the highway which was stark white, except for two words in black ink that stood out, TYRES SKID. My Uncle dashed out to see the tyres on my car, all 4 were entirely bald, which I had seen to the next day. Loved this form of poetry, never tried it. Blessings Jennifer

One must remember their ancestors. The foundation has been laid. Naturally, it's on the shoulders of this generation to guide it in the right direction. I really like this poem. If you would like to read some uplifting and inspirational pieces, check out my "2009 Best Christian Poetry Award" blog on site regarding my book. Great job and God bless always! ~Joseph

Very ethereal write here, James ... my ancestors were liars and drunks so I'm not sure I want to join them ... smile ... then again, they might laud me for the cycles I've ceased ... Your writing is a well-deserved selection to be featured this week at the Soup. Congratulations!!

This is wonderful writing. I like the spiritual undertone to this one. Sort of a chilling effect...Spirits of anestors speaking and teaching in ones dreams, I like that. Congratulations on being featured with this piece. Smiles from Lolita

My brother Jim, I come to this gloriously by the invitation of your letter ... and I ask if we carry the legacy of its history must we too accept its destiny? If that destiny lies outside of the history I too will long for the vision. Good write! Love always
