We only have to think about racist hoards (good people according to our king) marching in Charlottesville, Virginia chanting, "Jews will not replace us!" The war between the states fought in the 1860s never ended for many. Now, our king is making arrangements for white immigrant refugees from South Africa while banning others depite the fact that whites in South Africa are no more vulnerable to crime as others there. What's driving it all:

Confederate types some admire Punctured DEI's entire hire The world is a throng And civil war's wrong But that car just hit their barbed wire

OK, you should be hired as a satirist at a local / national newspaper, but I guess such jobs don't exist anymore as I'm visualizing. They should though, and you should be! CayCay

Thanks Karen, we seem to be amidst a battle for who gets to think they have control over our thoughts and minds. In the age of media, it's not as far fetched as it might be when print media was exclusive for reporting and disseminating. I'm thinking days of Thomas Paine. Thanks!!

IE, yes so true what you say. If we take the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of people, we soon find out that others are just as smart or even smarter than we are. Also, we can learn and appreciate any different points of view. Maybe they're better than ours. I know you have a lot of wisdom I can only see peripherally. Smiles for you, of course and many thanks!!!

Lin, I'm hearing that thought more lately. I think his narcissism psychosis is bizarre and becoming more apparent. His lawyer and former fixer, Michael Cohen, was right to note he will destrou everyone and everything he touches. Unfortunately, we may be caught up in the tsunami.

If all over the world peace existed - And earthly wars were ceased and resisted -Imagine the calm - In life without harm - Surely there’s someone out there can fix it…… Beryl

Beryl, beautiful response you've made. I'm uncertain who has the power to fix it at this point. I do believe you have the ability, for example. When I was working, we had courses on change management. The acronym used was ADKAR...in order to change things what was needed was the awareness of the need, desire to make the change, knowledge how to make the change, ability to make it, and reinforcement from others. Not easy to manage and certainly not the method we are seeing used by the USA government.

The enduring heritage of racism and white supremacy in the United States is addressed in this amazing limerick poem Duke, especially in light of contemporary political events and societal tensions. It emphasizes the arrogance in how some groups are dealt with under the law and digs into the history of these issues. The syntax is really cool, straightforward, and emotive, with expressions like "racist hoards" and "barbed wire" conjuring images of violence and separation. The contrast of "decent people according to our monarch" with the acts of those yelling anti-Semitic chants exposes the hypocrisy in normalizing hatred.

SP, it is amazing that we're battling over who has a right to be in charge. Of course, having the opportunity to actually work in diverse settings seems to dissolve bias in a very significant way. My wife suggests our leaders should spend a lot of time living in the poorest communities in order to understand what life is like for many. Selfishness seems all too easy for many.
