This is a beautiful quatrain... dear Sara. I wonder how the ancient writers used quill and parchment to produce masterpieces. A writer's journey is beautifully traced. A catching image too!

thanks for your visit, Valsa. You're right...this is a quatrain and I didn't mark it as such. I marvel at the ancient writers...what patience, skill, and dedication they had..I imagine writing was a soulful experience for them. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and have a great day, hugs, Sara

Laziness has set in, and now everybody uses a phone or tablet to compose, Dear Sara. The development of penmanship throughout the years has never failed to amaze me. There was a time when it was so sophisticated.

I agree with you, Sotto. Penmanship is a lost art along with getting mail and greeting cards in one's mailbox. Yes, I like the digital convenience and efficiently, but miss the sophistication and glamour that has seemingly now passed. Have a pleasant weekend, your poetess friend in Texas, Sara

I always found it amazing that handwriting has changed over decades. It was once so elegant. We have become lazy, and now everyone types on a phone or computer. It is quicker but… Nicely expressed.

Hadn't thought about it, but I agree with you. Handwriting has dramatically changed during my lifetime. I remember what a huge deal it was in the 2d grade to get a fountain pen to use while learning to write cursive. I felt like an artist with ink all over my clothes by the end of the day! Thanks for your visit and for sharing your thoughts. Have a splendid day, hugs, Sara
