If Only Morning Could Last
To hold the morning throughout the day,
into the envelope of night
where tiny dewdrops dangle,
in the hush of morning light.
To hear the hymns of birds
that sing, with the rising sun,
if only morning could last,
until the day was done.
The gentle mist awakens
the delicate faces of flowers,
lavish blooms of Morning Glories,
embrace the temperate showers.
If only morning could last.
