If

If you could hear echoes from my heart now, would you perhaps reflect and wonder how I have longed to hear your melodic voice flow in symphony with mine and rejoice. I cry out for you when you are not here with silence resonating an empty sphere. Tender spoken words of love that I seek to perforate a muted day so bleak. If you could see me through veils of sorrow, would you give light for a bright tomorrow ? Could your eyes feast upon me just once more as they did back then when they gently bore and pierced to capture my spirit and soul - a hunger that consumes to leave unwhole. To paint life again with shades of colours that conceals the blackness that discolours. If you could embrace and seduce me now, would you and your absent heart know how I have yearned many a still, lonely night to share with you dawn’s arrival of light. Entwined in your arms where it all begun where passing of years intense love was spun. Woven into our lives with webs of desire like a moth to flame with burnt wings on fire. If you could see we were drifting apart, damaged vessel sinking a lonely heart - would you steer your ship on a stormy sea, let down guarded sails back to rescue me? Save a drowning soul through winds of love; resurrect once more to float from above. Bring waves of joy on a moon’s tidal riff, perhaps you would, but then, what if ?

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Christina, we long to be heard and have our passion answered. What motivates you to write this poetry of such feeling about attraction? I certainly appreciate very much what you write and will be back to read more. I know I tended as a young person form crushes very easily and fantasize a lot, but as I got to know people, I found out they were not what I thought they would be. Emotions of attraction are so hard to deal with. When I watch the Hallmark Channel, I think...man they are so reserved.

Thank you so much for your visit Duke and leaving such in-depth comments and thoughts. The motivation for this poem was that it came from the heart and having easy access to such deep emotions. Thank you gratefully for your supportive, encouraging comments. So kind of you and it inspires to write more. Blessings to you.

Tender and yearning. I sometimes ponder a torch held for an old flame. In sorrow do we build it to be more than it was ? if we had the chance over, would it be as wonderful as we hoped and dreamed? I remember my first love at 16. Its been enshrined on a pedestal for all these years, wrapped in an "if". Your soulful poem aroused old feelings Chris, just what art is meant to do. Its not to remember the words ..Its to remember the way the poetry made you feel. Thank you dear poet. .. Wen

So poignant, had to read it again. Perforate a bleak day, yes tender words of love can do exactly this. Wow, you really got me with this one, ive read it before and it makes one yearn inside. The mark of a good poet is to 'perforate' the heart of the reader. You do just that. xxlove janine

A nice poem with rhyme being intact/ It needs lot of attention to write such a poem/ Encomiums to the poet for this pretty poem/ As I have crossed 64, love for me is silly/ But, the poem describes love superbly!

Christina, i am Fav-ing this powerful poem from the mines of your deepest feelings. Was it painful to write? Were it mine, it would have been. In my Devotion Poems, you might sense my similar desire for my Jim, tho heis not gone. You’ve masterfully described the long pingto be CONSUMED by the passion left unfinished within U. I feel that for myJim, roghthere, 8’ away, every time i look at him, but we are not touching. Even after 40 yrs! You’ve defined PASSION. Brilliant poetry!
