I must have promised

I must have promised to diligently strive to get up each morning by half past five. Drink my java, watch the news, keep things quiet and let her snooze.. Wash up at our bathroom sink but keep the faucet trickling so she gets a full drink.. Serve her a chicken pate dish, never meat and seldom fish.. If I'm met with defeat offer a few temptation treats. Brush my tresses and her hair, bless her with a St. Anthony prayer.. Once the sun is fully up, let her out to strut her stuff.. When I forget or show some slack, I'm actually snubbed by my very own cat! I'll be sticking with this cat's agenda, heaven forbid I might offend her..

Great poem, cats demand loyalty, dogs give it. I love cats but their hair does not like me. Having said that, my son was terribly allergic, nevertheless, they adopted a beautiful Persian cat from the S.P.C.A, after some time she was sleeping on the bed next to him, and got very grumpy when he was moved. Several years later the family all thinking he was male, the cat was taken to the vet to be muted. Well said the vet unfortunately I can't mute a female cat!!!! Blessings and hugs Jennifer

Hi Nancy....getting a pet in the house carries a tacit agreement that you'll be a servile-friend for life. Mine is a Tomcat, so I suppose he's not as fussy as yours :) Reading this has been much better than reading the news this morning!! ~ Regards // paul

Dear Nancy, You made me chuckle and laugh this morning. I love how you go to great lengths to accommodate her and they just go about their day thinking that they are our master. - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

your poem is a charming and entertaining reflection on the quirky, often comical aspects of pet ownership. The playful tone and vivid imagery bring the reader into the world of a devoted cat owner, making it both relatable and amusing

Hi Tom, I think people may get me off the site if I write another cat poem. LOL. I am struggling to write due to this beta blocker they stuck me on. If you never took meds. earlier, it's a major adjustment. Blessings to you and really enjoyed your recent write.
