I Die In the Words: the Many Ways a Poet Can Die

The many ways a poet can die: When I try to trap in flimsy words the love for my wife-- I die in the words.... When I read of the relentless cruelty we call history-- I die in the words.... When I try to understand, to SEE myself, you, others-- I die in the words.... When I reach out to God with aged hands and dry lips-- I die in the words.... When I write poems or they write me ('tis the same)-- I die in the words...I always die in the words.

Back with congratulations a second time LJ. This poem truly gives life to that feeling of frustration when our words seem to inadequately express what we want to write. Love the formatting. Sending you blessings.
