I Couldn't Talk About It, So I Wrote A Poem
Some things are hidden
Because they are forbidden.
They need not be only actions.
They may be an inappropriate thought
that must forever be left in the closet.
Such matters may be real, but they tend to
leave a bitter pill that never seems to heal.
Hard to dismiss, but they may as well be mirages.
It would help if there was a confidant,
but few of us have such human luxury.
But by all means, tell it to The Lord.
These thoughts or desires, although not
acted upon, do not free us from guilt.
It may be that all one could do was stare.
There might be a certain atmosphere in the air.
The object of stare may be so very clear and bright.
Wisdom forbids a touch, notwithstanding the delight.
And for years, the object may never be lost from sight.
And even though there's a constant troubling within, the
emotions and feelings must be curtailed like low ocean tides.
And deep inside they still reside and might be forever hidden,
Again, I say, share it with the Lord and ask that it be forgiven,
because there is no denying that they are absolutely forbidden.
