Her Smile Will Brighten Up a Sunny Day Tritina For Messina

If I could wave a magic wand to bring her back to us again A time before a monster came and slowly took her brain away Malevolence incarnate an unwelcome guest on a sunny day Secretly arriving, silently entwining, spreading evil on a sunny day Now too late to shut the gate, life cannot be the same again With malicious intent it slowly devours her precious mind away Family devastation of cruel realization, this disease will never go away No inkling when Alzheimer's crept inside her mind that fateful day A wife, a mother, a granny, a friend, life cannot be the same again Hold her hand again, wipe all tears away, her smile will brighten up a sunny day Written February 2019 Contest “A Tritina for Messina” Sponsor Charles Messina 2nd place Contest: 565 Sponsor:Brian Strand 1st place

Ann, a dear friend's mother is experiencing the memory loss of Alzheimer's now and it is hard for the family. I'm sorry you lost a loved one this way. Great entry for the contest. Winning wishes for you! Hugs, Carolyn

such a touching poem Ann, that final line bought a lump to my throat - reminds me of a friend's mum who is in mum's carehome ... she no longer recognises her own daughter:-( hugs Jan xx
