We were sisters, but more like Cinderella and the ugly sister variety ... and of course you always made me feel like I am the ugly one! I’ve done so much for our parents for years but you got all the glory ... and the privileges A house, private college education, a car Enough money to open a bank! You weren’t born with a silver spoon in your mouth More like a solid gold coal shovel! Everything I own I’ve worked my butt off to get - holding down 5 part time jobs to buy my first car I appreciate every single thing we own You’ve lived on benefits for over 30 years Oh and of course of bank of mummy and daddy Yet when dad died You lied and cheated and only thought of ME ME ME Perhaps you should get an Oscar for your performance! Believe me I wouldn’t swap places with you for the world Forgiveness feels like a rotted grave ... you can rot in yours forever Free verse only Contest Sponsored by Laura Loo 6/3/18

Deep within the recesses of our heart lie our emotions. Sometimes, they surface so others can see the feelings we harbor. It produces a type of cleansing to vent occasionally even though the feelings remain. Your words may sound venomous to others but are a balm of relief for you. Congratulations on your win.

Moi testy no no no I am actually incredibly patient - working with kids and elderly people sure gives you the patience of a saint at times! You can choose your friends not your relations - will say no more but I still have mum and my own family and am truly blessed:-) :-) hugs jan xx

WOW, I see from below that you understand about forgiveness so no lecture here! It must be really difficult and don't you wonder sometimes, why things are the way they are. Life is truly baffling. Well done rant Jan xxxooo

There is some poetic licence ... it is allowed Mike lol but the only thing I feel for her is pity - she told the lawyer she hated me and wanted nothing to do with me - but I was giving my share of the inheritance to her lol ... I know from my hubbies cancer that material things mean little - she is welcome to everything she has got which she has never had to work for. I have made my own way in life and am much the better person for it:-) hugs jan xx

I wrote my first poem when my hubby had his cancer surgery and I find writing so cathartic whether they are factual or fiction poems. :-) hugs Jan xx
