Hi Audrey.Ah! poor thing, lost his nuts.Gone to all that trouble and now doesn't know where they are.Reminds me of someone else I know. The curse of the ageing process-memory loss.I love your fun Haiku.A good one ,not only humorous but clever.Makes you wonder does it hit the animal kingdom or is it only us humans that it renders into amnesiac idiots, trying to laugh it off as a 'senior moment? As though calling it that gives it a sense of dignity.!Thanks for the laugh and empathy?.Love June

I recently sold an article about squirrels. The little animals must prepare for the harsh winter as you say so well in your haiku. Peace & Blessings Matthew Anish

Smile ~ Well, I have found through a vast & extensive study upon the squirrels themselves that although, they may often forget the exact location of those treasures buried shallow in the ground beneath say, the fall foliage, they are Always keenly & astutely aware of, if not their own caches jewels locals well then, that of their brother or sisters, fall festivities reapings amid rough terrained verdantly flourished vicinities ~ Smile ~ ....Cont:)

Squirrels are real hoarders, Audrey. Somehow they seem to make it through winter with the nuts they set aside all fall. Best wishes for success in Andrea's contest! Love, Carolyn

Cute haiku, Audrey. Squirrels are better at saving things than most humans. I bet this is for Andrea's new contest. Good luck! Diane
