Emmanuel
Contest entry
I know that I… will not find love again.
Through twilight eyes …I long to feel you once again
‘Emmanuel’ the breeze, whispers to me your name
The love I lost … no more a burning flame.
We had a once in a lifetime ….. love affair
No love was ere like this …. no… no love I swear
Now you are gone… I am barren all alone
To never dance more … or hear your lover’s moan
We glided… across the floor … in each other arms so close so tight,
I never thought the dance would end or the dawn would break on that…. endless magical love .. that dream and star filled night.
No more to hold you … my arms are empty n’ere to kiss your lips,
to feel… your manliness …your head …on my shoulder… to feel as one… and feel the hopes or our dreams that were then still insight.
She stepped between us… an ephemeral form one turn took…… all from me.
It was as though our love was ne - ver meant to be
Emmanuel I sit here … with the ghost of you
And in my loneliness … I see what I must do.
