I arise from a field of wishes stillness, caught an absence of a breeze dandelion clocks, unscattered dazed half a lifetime yet now my hands clasp every desire - to be outside of time inner chaos calmed yet the world stands still opposing tranquility words fail, wants curtailed - I kneel, entranced by proximity devastated by distance such closeness to a dream ~ a death in itself ~ I am without reflection without air in my lungs dormant, breathless aware of all I lack consciousness ~ a spiralling wind that can whip away this one wish - of you within arms reach holding my gaze bringing me back to my senses oh dandelion deliver the softest kiss I wish, I pray, I reminisce there's nothing more I ask but this

"Domenico Gatti - Purita" is a beautifully crafted and emotionally resonant poem. You've successfully captured the complexities of desire, longing, and the bittersweet nature of nearness. The use of evocative imagery and a restrained yet powerful language creates a lasting impression.

I was obviously on a break from the soup Dilly when you posted this masterpiece, (Such closeness to a dream, a death in itself) What a line! I feel like I’ve lived it a million times, another beautifully balanced Ekphrasis, with a (Je ne sais quoi) element that transfixes the reader to become at one with both painting and poem, quite deservedly in the top 2 of best new poems, A Fave from me, cheers David

Pretty sure I could have floated home reading this high praise David :) it was a lovely one to write, it pretty much emerged from that 'at one' with the painting feel you describe. They often feel gifted to me more than written by myself when written in that zone. I'm glad it was captured successfully in the final version of the poem. I'm delighted in my #2 spot. Think that might be my highest position on there. Thank you for the fave and the beautiful comment, cheers back atcha :)

This is an interesting poem. A girl, frozen in time, is trapped forever more by a cruel artist. Lol. I hope her doppelganger was paid well.
