Do They Cry For Him

She heard the seagulls plaintive cry As she sat upon the shore, Do they cry for him she thought, Her love, who was no more. She gazed across the water And wished that he was there, But no, death had took him She just stared, and stared. The lapping of the waves Seemed to ease her troubled mind. Hypnotic in their rhythm, The sea was being kind. But soon the spell was broken Her grief returned again, The crying of the seagulls Resounded, with her pain. Entry for 2-woman on the beach picture. Great expression of waves of grief. Love “the sea was being kind” for the sea also has a cruel side.

Water is so conducive to the spirit. Your poem makes me think back to when I lived close to the ocean. It was an atmosphere I frequented when seeking answers to questions seeming far greater than myself. Love this little gem. Great writing!
