Deciduous poetry contest Sponsored by Craig Cornish Italian sonnet rhyme: abbaabbacdecde
A tiny, glowing, wing-ed creature flies to homes around the world in every land compelled to take each tooth we lose and then, to sneak a coin to sleepers whilst they sigh as wispy whistles whoosh from holes inside and taking the milk teeth we lose as planned when growing up from baby boy to man. What does a tiny tooth for fairies buy? Perhaps a car or wand or just some bread? Ten molars for to rent a fairy flat? I do believe in fairies, Come on, clap! And some say that they eat the teeth instead! Do they get more if they battle the cat? Who takes their teeth when they grin with a gap?

Dear Crystol, I enjoyed the whimsical nature of your splendid poem. So charming and enticing for both my heart and imagination. I especially adored "What does a tiny tooth for fairies buy?/Perhaps a car or wand or just some bread?/Ten molars for to rent a fairy flat?" amazing! Your lovely poem about little ones losing milk teeth is a perfect piece for the theme, deciduous! Congratulations for your success in Craig's contest. Warmest wishes my poet friend.. ~Susan

Awe thanks Tom...yea getting those N/A's isn't fun... especially with no explanation...but I understand the sponsor can't give feedback to all those that don't make the grade. Sometimes it's just personal opinion which is fine but if it's a technical reason, knowing that would help me learn. Any who lol thanks! Xo

Crystol, this is delightful from start to end. I think the iambic pentameter, which challenges me, too, is effective in this. I like the exploration of the question, "what does a tiny tooth for fairies buy?"

I agree with Kim, that was a great line. Some fairies must be East Londoners. Cute poem Crys

Thanks Kim! I liked the way this one came out... sometimes it's like the pen takes over and the poem writes itself! Ty for coming by! Xo

An entertaining entry--I trust, of course your title beheld a conundrm re specifics of Craig's contest. A simple recheck should suffice the matter of inclusionary concerns--a tiny matter. Thanks, Crystol, for my substantial smile. Aloha William

Or are you referring to the Sonnet being in iambic pentameter? I'm still trying to get the hang of that... not sure if I achieved that goal here but I tried. ;)

Heehee...Aloha! Yes you've got lots of brilliant vocabulary! I realize he probably meant deciduous trees/autumn but I was attempting to think outside the box. ;) thanks for stopping by William! Xo
