Collaboration Contest
My pencil draws small white sails
I see them crawl past
Sailing boats
Slowly moving left and right
My pencil draws small white sails
against dark water
and blue sky
Shapes form in listless clouds
Imagination swims
among the cursive waves
As anchors find the murky bottom
of the once blank page
now teeming with life
Scratches evolve, come alive
Where water bites
the sand away,
small crabs crawl
I watch you walk towards me,
capture your silken sunlit hair
Sailboats fade beyond the horizon
leaving in their wake
poetic phrases swirling
in a mesmeric tide
Speaking in a language of love
that only our two hearts can hear
