Christmas Tanka and Sedoka
CHRISTMAS TANKA AND SEDOKA
toy shop
‘jolly and son’
train in the window
wetting a circle
this little nose
sedoka
money pot men
on every street corner
constant jingling
on winter air
stocking caps no faces
but red noses
mid november
in the mall
thanksgiving coming
man in red hurries past
white whiskers on the floor
just november
and the mall full of trees
outrageous prices
i’ll wait for a sale
like on this thanksgiving turkey
sedoka
the mystique
the carols
sucking on a candy cane
i’m like a kid again
funny thought
my walking stick with stripes
perfectly formed
best tree ever
just a buck
“sam! neighbor is livid
sonny chopped down
his blue spruce”
woe is me
so lonely
until I see
a box of kittens
left at my front door
on christmas eve
