I was drawn in by your title too! I remember burning a stack of love letters once - it just wouldn't be the same deleting emails or removing Facebook connections haha think I still have a stack at my mum's of a guy I was engaged to - we lived together so I ended up with mine and his but I've not looked at them for decades. I was 18 when the letters were written - bet I won't recognise myself! Interesting write

I was also very young when we got engaged (still at teacher's college) and married 2 years later. Years later, our daughter came across the stack of our letters and we decided to burn them in a ceremony of sorts to save face later on when she might understand the contents ... We do some embarrassing things when we are young. :)

Dear Suzette; i love your title, so got me intrigued to read this, and i agree with what youv delivered here in such a seamless manner. Everything, relationships to other personal things all seems now to be publicized for all to see and read and I couldn’t help but feel “the fallout is public and wounds licked noisily” hits strong for me “ I long for the good old days when I could burn love letters privately” same~ i love the flow and depth of what youv conveyed: soulful write: pleasure reading: sending you light always~

Thank you for reading, Ink, and the kind words. Glad we are on the same page insofar as the public spectacle of emotions and personal matters are concerned. The 4th November is Bonfire Night - maybe we should have a burning of those love (or other) letters to purge ourselves of uncomfortable memories ... Just musing here. Hugs, Su
