Annabelle
She’s furlicious, sweet and kind.
Not one bite of violence between her teeth.
Loves a good rubdown of her ruddy physique.
An old lady with a kick.
Still knows how to gain access to your heart.
Better than a child — wraps you around her paw.
no cage please...
no garage...
no basement...
She sneaks up
the split-level stairs.
She’d climb higher, if you’d let her,
until this fine pit bull specimen,
stares shamelessly into your mesmerized eyes,
and kisses you
on the cheek
with her burlap tongue.
