Sweet angel orchids, tender pearls of white,
glistening in the misty morning dew.
Perfumed with scents that bring senses delight.
Inspiration for a poet to write,
as eyes become mesmerised by their view.
Sweet angel orchids, tender pearls of white.
When held, ivory petals feel so lite,
their image like a celestial statue.
Perfumed with scents that bring senses delight.
In the sun they glow with their halo bright,
like a group of angels waiting in queue.
Sweet angel orchids, tender pearls of white.
How elegantly they bask in sunlight,
and in monsoons they remain strong like glue.
Perfumed with scents that bring senses delight.
They glow among the moon and stars at night.
How sad in the world there are just a few.
Sweet angel orchids, tender pearls of white,
perfumed with scents that bring senses delight.

Villanelle
A Villanelle is a nineteen-line poem consisting of a very specific rhyming scheme: aba aba aba aba aba abaa.
The first and the third lines in the first stanza are repeated in alternating order throughout the poem, and appear together in the last couplet (last two lines).
