A Christmas In Heaven
Dear brother Dale, who passed away before
the many of us that you loved so much.
I picture you meeting at Heaven’s door
those you managed easily upon this earth to touch.
Church members you influenced and kith and kin
(those who now have passed on too like you).
I see you right now showing that big grin
to all deceased who on this earth you knew.
You died so young, before most of the others
who – like you too – with God’s love were enticed.
Now freed from pain are sisters and brothers -
and some of them whom you had brought to Christ!
I see you with our grandparents and with our dad
rejoicing that you’re with them in Heaven’s grace.
Dear Dale, I know so well that you feel glad.
You have to be to see each loved one’s face!
Your family of seven siblings here below
and Mother who survived you – we all recall
the charm of Christmases. You had a glow
which you bestowed on friends and on us all.
And there in Heaven you are glowing still,
where there is Christmas all the heavenly year.
For all loved ones now gone, oh, what a thrill.
Look down on us and offer us good cheer!
