A Bounce Upon the Ground

these petals unfold like thoughts of mind heavy as the weight they bear this benumbed september day in the crux beyond a seed's gather viscid drops of crimson red carried off by wings of time now daffing in the cooler air the hive of mind through torturous stings of past grounds me thickset in honey coated memories i still taste the poison lingered from your lips bitterness of venomous lies through death's astringent kiss my love for you, it tarries no greater than the buzz amidst these dandelions stomped upon your grave September 4, 2019 Where Bumbles Bounce Poetry Contest Sponsored by Craig Cornish

I had to look this up Sandra. I wish we could post our original below our excerpt in the contest. Greg's last contest I spent a lot of time looking up the original poems of the entries. You should include this riveting poem below your entry after the contest is over. Sometimes anger lingers long after death. Really good Sandra! : )

For me, this was an unexpected take on this challenge, but more powerful because of it. A fav for me due to its incredible depth and sting.

Craig will love this one, you are a phenomenon Sandy, a quickness of mind that is unrivaled. How deftly you navigated thoughts without mentioning a bee the sting is still felt. You metaphors are very potent!

Thank you Gershon, some topics really spark my muse, although i don't know how unique my approach is, the first few i saw also used death to tie the bee in.... :) hugs

Very apt metaphors, Sandy..these petals unfold like thoughts of mind..and..torturous stings of past. I felt the intensity of disdain in the ending lines..you delivered on the contest theme expertly..as always.

Sorrow blooms in dark colors in this wonderful but desperately lonely feeling poem. But sad or not, this is perfect for the contest it was written for. I could feel the deep emotions in this as I read it this morning. Wonderfully done my friend.

hard to write a poem about bees without using the word, so i went for the metaphoric picture, this is what it brought to mind, thank you for your kind comments and visits :) hugs
