Dear David, impressive how youv written a tanka in three minutes. I did a simple letter to my son. Was fun. Yours is deep and has a very powerful meaning between your well woven words and lines flowing seamlessly. I love especially the last line which can be interpreted in so many ways. “ that porridge was warm ~ but sh!te” sometimes, what seems warm and nice may not always be good. Brilliant! Thank you for the light Ink Empress, it’s always welcome in my life, think I already had a Goldilocks idea in my mind for a few days, but when I seen the contest, a tanka formed in about 3 minutes, indeed that final line is layered with alternate meaning plus a little fun, cheers David

Ha, I agree Tom, porridge is best served fresh unless serving porridge in (prison) No full Irish in Mountjoy lol! Cheers David

Goldilocks shoulda been outta there before three minutes and LONG before she fell asleep in the comfy bed. A belly full of porridge was tempting the hands of fate, much less the roving hands of three minutes on any clock. I think my commenting time is about 3 minutes, so I'm outta here. Hope the door is still open. You give pause to think, David but I've left before my time's up.

Heya Lin! paws to think Especially when porridge is made by bears, lol! I never really seen the moral in this one, til I discovered Earth was a Goldilocks planet, which may well be true for 1% of the population, there is an extra layer or two in my tanka, you are wise indeed to get out while the going is good, cheers David

No rose tinted glasses for you David lol - what is the world coming to when tepid exists. Lots to think about here and leads me into déjà vue and revisiting memories. Although sometimes I just want to be transported back to watching Bullseye circa 1985 and circling the Barbies I wanted for Christmas in the catalogue (not even the moment I got said Barbies!) I've lost my thread now... "In one - is this fabulous teas maid, in two, you'll never miss a beat with this personal radio cassette player"

Yeah reality blows hot and cold Dilly, I agree hype and fantasy are probably the best parts of our childhoods, once the tooth fairy is debunked, it’s all downhill from there, (super smashing great) comment, cheers David
