The Womb

Despite training myself to be own hero, I know it when I am helpless, when everything is keenly unbearable and I’d have to recognize and accept the chink in my armor. I’d sit there and feel the weight on my back while my calm face manages to greet her with a dainty smile.
Slowly, I would come closer until my skin and her skin won’t depart like we are in one flesh. It’s in the way I would suddenly embrace her or in the way I would put my head on her lap. Nothing in the world feels better, nothing in the universe is safer than the entirety of her presence merging with mine.
I guess the most painful periods of our lives always make us want to reach for our mothers as we miss the world in her precious womb where we hadn’t known these complexities and trying times outside yet, where the heartbeat we felt was only for her.
I could almost forget what I have become that for a single moment I just want to stay as that innocent pea she once had carried for months. Maybe my soul longs for where I lived first, for the darkness there didn’t mean as being close to death but to a new beginning.

Brightest One

This is how I look at the stars: with a heartbeat I look closely, my soul basks in every tiny light that is so far but can set the fire of my emotion, like every inch of my visceral skin is scalded. I look at the stars for that is how I can only have you; the sky is just your whole and every piece of you is a twinkling beauty.
I grew up staring at the stars not knowing which one was the brightest until I saw you that all the stars I look at now are the brightest because looking at one is also seeing you.
But when the time comes that we'd share the same night sky, we'd be watching these stars and everything will be different. I will not be looking at them anymore for you will steal my eyes and in silence I shall be calling you my brightest one.

Supreme Substance

There's a wind that hauls yon
It's like a thin rope I step on
A fragile path I,alone can see
Despite my limbs, yet to be free

Comes a tidal assault
As wild as the lightning bolt
The water's extreme unfriendliness
Sends me to my weakest tenderness

But with my core embedded and guarded
Raging with fire cannot be defeated
I live like the earth's body
And this love for you is that fire within me

Recall

She perceived it as light at first sight, like the morning was made

to rescue her from the perennial, sleepless nights, and like when

she was frozen down a pitch black hole and squinted at the sliver of

a sunbeam;

and then she said he wore white,

exactly looking like an angel,

for a short moment that seemed to last, her life depended on just

staring at him

She believed she'd already seen him but wished they'd met before

She saw a new scene of an instant memory

Her heart recalls it was the beginning, but her soul knew

it was returning to something-

something that's always been with her time

Sun

When I alight from the deck
of my slumber,
and life persists to matter
You, the sprouting day,
newborn world, no noise
of fray
the first thing I wake up to
My true hope that grows anew
When vivid clouds leave the
skies and the sumptuous
twilight is up to entice
You, the sinking sun-the finale
to my frisk and fun
The highlight of what living
has been about
My needed remedy to a
niggling doubt
You are both the sunrise and
the sunset I wait for
the marvel impossible to ignore
Breathtaking, awe-inspiring;
I am the earth with sustenance
never-ending

Dull Weather

There’s so little in this meadow;
The horizon seems to need medication,
Even raindrops have an insipid taste
I’m like a garden cursed
To never see the butterflies
For the flowers are all in their graves
I fear that maybe I had it much
And to suddenly feel it less

The Foolish Flower

A static place; her crimson face
She would turn to ash
If he was a ball of flames
She has fallen, signed and sealed
Eyes devoted enough to one
Like humans learned of no other Sun

The mad part of desiring
Is when there’s a risk of dying
She’d be Clytie and he’d be
Her dearest Apollo
And she’d have her feet
Eaten by the ground

Her demise will always be
The color of the light
Even if the cause was
Her love never known

Four Point Seven: Morph

A song is a poem that seized its opportunity to fly
A dance is a close-lipped soliloquy narrated by vigor
A story is a word with blazing sentiments that can't die
Every mastery is a tenacious failure

A laugh is a smile learning to be an extrovert
A noise is a whisper that couldn't stay in its zone
A race is a walk with ambitions it won't desert
Those who crawl out of their shell become full-blown

Four Point Four: Old Pals

Laughter with old pals,
like an immaculate song
can't be out of tune

It is life dancing
in lightheaded wisp of time-
a glass always full

Quiet Bliss

How do you kiss the world when
Your heart’s victorious?
Does the fire in your eyes
Leave clues?

I always saw a wild form of me
Once I get to catch shooting stars for free
Yet when the light did shine
At the moment that became mine
I felt not a definite thing
I was one with the wind passing

Instantly, I was too full
That I was weightless and empty
I guess when you’re the happiest
Peace blossoms to crest
