You Crushed the Bright Yellow Moon

You Crushed The Bright Yellow Moon You crushed the bright yellow moon, And you spat at the gleaming sun. River, its gilded breath flows I yet long for our love to live Lord knows you gave wicked hard blows Tho' I gave all love I could give I a seaside pleading Neptune Sweet rain splatters, fills me right up We were lovers that met in June Your love my darling fills life's cup Our kisses were grapes on the vine Each night a steaming lover's feast Always on love's heart we both dine Til you ran so far away East Now these words fly from a sick man Whose heart lay here in broke pieces Forget, I try hard as I can I so miss you and your nieces Darling, I pray you love can see That its powers you again find Love has a monster grip on me My sweetheart please change your mad mind. You crushed the bright yellow moon, And you spat at the gleaming sun You left me with an empty spoon I so fear, that we are now done! Robert J. Lindley, Rhyme 9-06-2023 Note: One I dreamed of her late last night She came to me and this she said Forgive me darling, you were right I so miss you, I am now dead. Note: Two Sad but such was so very true Her passing was sad, this I knew Hearing that made me so damn blue Part of me still deeply loves you.

And how I also silently prayed "long for your Love to live"! A love that "fills life's cup"! How deep and unique you displayed so fulfilling so life sustaining Love! You can but hold so dear such sentiment.. miss so much so precious a beloved! How lofty, how wonderfully and how poetically you have bared the wealth of your soul! God bless you dear Robert.. Best wishes and regards.

"You crushed the bright yellow moon" That definitely is one of the most intriguing titles.. How poignant, heart-aching and profound is this write.. Which describes a whole journey how two lovers succumbed to darkness and the destiny split them apart.. The sense of heartbreak is really palpable in these lines that you've so stunningly articulated.. "Spat at the gleaming sun"..ah, beyond evocative.. It's so sad that time slips away but those whom we love don't really realise our worth and leave us

Thank you, my friend. So true time does not stop when one is that broken apart. I remember writing her several love poems trying to get her back. But her family made sure she did not come back to me. In youth life was very, very hard some of things we go through in our learning process. May God bless you my friend.

Thank you, my friend. You just described it correctly. Several months of total despair but the heart finally healed itself but it was no easy task. God bless you my friend.

Thank you, my friend. It was a very hard time in my young life. Losing a true love is that way. Living through it is a tragedy but if one survives then they are made of a tougher hide. God bless you.

Thank you, my friend. My life as a very young man saw heartbreak more than once. Best I can say is it also toughened me up. Although it was horribly hard to live through. God bless you.

That title is so good i really love how strong it sounds, and can feel the depth of pain thats been inflicted upon your heart. Ah how they crushed the moon, and spat on the sun, thats some whole different level of poetic profoundness. I also love how effortlessly you rhyme, they flow seamlessly everytime. And to be heartbroken is never easy, to love again even more challenging, as trust is gone. Loved reading this poignant poem: soul hitting write. That is so very moving

Thats twice I almost said her name. And that I once swore to never say again. Never! Such deep pain she inflicted, I pray no other man ever feels!
