Would You Still Love Me

If I had but a day To look in your eyes, And to tell you how it feels To leave behind your smiles, Would you still love me? If the truth was a lie Which I never told, For the fear that I would hurt Your precious heart of gold, Would you still love me? If the world was a dream Where nothing is real, With not a single meaning To all we say and feel, Would you still love me? If this poem was a toast Which I never penned, Thinking that you would someday Cease to be my true friend, Would you still love me?
