With You Am Safe
I close my eyes, and I see you near
When you smile I see and hear
I never want to see you roar
Because I know I’d break into pieces.
I look at the ground that goes before me
Searching for those steps that you made before me
Your foot is big and your steps are wide
Yet still I run, always following you
Your eyes are everywhere, I feel them on me
My steps are bouncy, my laughter carefree
I know you watch me, and never depart
Your hands on mine, are big and strong
I feel their warmth when you lift me up
And again their strength, though restrained when from you I turn
And when I sleep, my nights are peaceful
Because I know, even in the wilds you always stand guard .
My belly is full, because of you
I never lack, because you are my Jireh
And when I want, what’s not best for me
I trust you to withhold it from me
I trust you Lord to always hold on to me
And if you let, go I’ll shatter not a bone of my body will be seen.
