Winter Time

Autumn has a big brother His name is winter A crisp cold wind is blowing and whistling Ice, sleeting, cold rain, and snow…oh yeah its freezing Days are shorter and nights are longer The bright colored autumn leaves have disappeared Jack Frost is here to bring havoc and fear He’s never unforgiven or apologetic Gloves, hats, scarfs, and boots….its winter yeah we get it Green grass turns to cold white I need my thermals and blankets for those frigid nights Coughing, sneezing, nose blowing, and chapped lips The cause and effect when temperatures dip Snow falls to the unseen ground Landing very gently there isn’t any sound Everyone hears the carolers singing “Silent Night” Who doesn’t love hot coco nights, and the snowball fights This brings back the memories of the holidays and all the things I did That’s why I love winter when I was a kid
