Winter Rose
In the Spring your buds appeared,
Expectant fragrant offering so near.
Your sweet aroma to last all summer
And in the winter would disappear.
Our innocent love, pure and free,
Yet this was never meant to be;
The winds of time took their toll
Our future paradise they stole.
No one knew you had months to live,
No one knew you had weeks to live,
No one knew you had days to live,
No one knew you had hours to live
And that every day was so precious;
Memories now. A field of treasures.
Farewell my love, farewell.
