Widow

In the quiet aftermath, fairytale's close, A widow now, where love once arose. Memories dance of love's early spark, Newlyweds' dreams, adventures in the dark. Shopping escapades, where no one claimed the win, Shared laughter, moments tucked within. Doing life together, through joy and strife, Raising kids, navigating the journey of life. Now a widow, pain veiled in silent grace, Alone she carries a once-shared embrace. No one can fathom the depth of her woe, Yet in her heart, love's enduring glow.

"pain veiled in silent grace" - indeed, the true tale of a widow, especially an Indian widow, is beautifully depicted. Congratulations!

Jay-your poem accurately depicts my best friend who recently lost her husband. She's spoken to me many times of the same things you mentioned in your poem. Her pain is unfathomable to me..you nailed it...enjoy your weekend, Sara

Your words ring true, Jay--journey of life takes us through many ups and downs. Silence does help to reflect and reminisce in the past when time changes for the worst.
