Where Is the Brotherly Love

Bombs are falling. Death is calling. Where is the brotherly love? Why do you maim and kill? Have you had your fill? Where is your brotherly love? Where is the mercy of man for the children of the land? Where is his brotherly love? Take the oil and take the soil. Do their bidding. Where is their brotherly love? You’re so tough. Haven’t you had enough? Where is your brotherly love? By: Carole O’Terry Duet Copyright: Feb. 2, 2018 “All Rights >Reserved”

Its a sad world we live in Carole, we all have it in us this brotherly love but we are overruled by greed and destruction. I love the song very apt for this emotional poem of yours my friend....Maria xxx

Thank you, Maria. You hit the nail on the head: greed ...the reason for it all. Makes you sick doesn't it? Carole :(

Very good, Carole. Makes me think of that old hippie song where I think they sing: War, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing. (hope I remembered that right)

Hey Andrea and I almost used that song, "War, What is it Good For", instead of this one. But, "War Pigs" won the battle. Anyway, thanks for your comment. I'm glad you liked it. Carole :D

I really like your poem and I share your desire for world peace, sadly I can’t see the human race relinquish the shackles of tribalism for a very long time, great piece of poetry Carole. :))

Thank you, Roy. The only way we will ever have world peace is if people learn to "share the wealth" and greed becomes a crime. Thanks for reading. Carole :D

Its just sickening, War brings death and pain. Evil greedy men who have got the lust for power.

Is sad , especially in the middle east and Asia, all the wars, other than Trump, I am thankful for the interventions of the USA, that short term may seem like more pain, but in the long run sing of peace.

Great music to accompany your poem... What a sad world we live in, when there is such a lack of brotherly love, division due to colour, race, nationality, religion.. humans are responsible for so much destruction.. Great poem Carole..

So true ZZ and yet we are so capable of that "brotherly love" if only we would open our eyes and hearts. Thank you for your comment. I think "War Pigs" nails it.

Nicely written, Carole, I think power and greed has trumped brotherly love, a sad state of affairs. John

Thank you, John. Yes, sadly it seems to be the case but I know that most people really want peace. It is mind-boggling to me why we allow ourselves to be led "like sheep to the slaughter" into war(s). If the people (which is almost everyone) who profess to love their neighbor would actually love their neighbor...well you know....it seems so simple but of course it's not.
