Originally written for a friend who lost a niece. Being secular I tried to make it open to all faiths and non faiths. I hope I have acheived this.
WHEN TEARS ARE NOT YET DRY
When you are grieving for me,
And the tears are not yet dry.
Remember my love for all I knew
And my love of life..
I will be the hand on your shoulder
In the warm summer breeze.
I will be the whisper of a soft voice
As you walk through Autumn leaves.
I will be the glow in the warmth
Of the Winter Yuletide fire
I will be the sweet melodic song
In the Spring-birds harmonious choir.
I will be in the text,
On the pop-up Facebook Meme.
I will place the annoying ads
That appear on your timeline, it'll seem
I will turn your glum selfie
Into a wink and a smile.
Blame me for Internet down.
Well, just for a while.
So when you are grieving for me,
And the tears are not yet dry
Remember I loved all I knew.
And that I fully lived my life.
