Wealth

If someone gave me a million dollars today, I would finish work and go on a big holiday. Buy a flash car, maybe some more real estate, take the family and friends on a big dinner date. I wouldn't have to worry about paying my debt, buy all of the things I've been unable to get. Pay someone to tidy up around my place, While I sit around, drink and stuff my face. This fantasy I have, well it has some flaws. One million bucks isn't enough to realise my cause. With careful consideration I've come to the conclusion, I need five million more, without any exclusion. Don't judge me or think that It is pure greed. I would require that much to fulfill all my need. After all a million dollars I could spend quite fast, I need the extra to make these plans last. After further musing, pursuing wealth is futile. I doesn't sit well with me, it's just not my style. I'm actually quite content with my frugal lot, I don't like buying things and certainly hate to shop. Having cash and property doesn't make you wealthy. It's what is made up in your soul that keeps you healthy. The best things in life have always been free, like cuddling a child who climbs up and sits upon your knee.

Good Morning Craig. Allow me to say "So let it be said so let it be written so let it be done." Your words are so true. Money doesn't make us wealthy it is who we are that defines us. Well done completely and entirely. Enjoy the day.

Thanks Lisa, I think most people realise this but ignore the truth

What a beautiful piece of creative rhymes... Expressing the comforts to be had from wealth.. Reconcile it with the love and the care available..... And the peacefulness of one who's content in Life...

Craig: I've never met a person with lots of money that felt they had enough. I've know many much poorer folk that felt they were rich. I guess I like feeling rich with little rather than feeling poor with much. Thanks for sharing those thoughts with all of us on the soup. Keep them coming. oldbuck

exactly right. wealth is very much a personal view. Not like W.C Fields who said, "I've heard money doesn't buy happiness, but I want to find out for myself". I think he did in the end.

I so agree...I am a grandma with a four year old g.daughter and we have fun just playing together. Don't need money to do that! I enjoyed your sweet poem Craig. : )

So good to hear Connie, if it's like our family your own kids will be saying, "You never let me get away with that" The Grandparents role is very different that a parent, so I'm finding out.
