Waves Played a Symphony

Dawn lit the horizon with soft golden light as the sun swept the land with warm fingers. I basked in the topaz gem's fire, burning bright. It was the kind of morning when one lingers on shore, watching waves playing over the sea flowing with rhythmic cadence of a symphony. Reminds me of back home - growing up in Tampa/St. Pete Florida but now I'm inland in southern Louisiana, terribly missing the beaches and ocean water you so eloquently describe (or allude to). Write on, Terry

At least you don't have to worry about swimming with sharks. Thank you.

I do so love to linger at the shore, absorbing all the sensory pleasures of creation, and no better time than when the sun bathes the sky in color (though here on the west coast, that happens at sunset). Love your imagery, Jenna, and especially how you end with a symphonic finale ~ John

There are so many things to hold one's interest there. I've become more of a sunrise person than sunset. I enjoy the 'quietude' of predawn when it seems everyone in the world is asleep except me and the songbirds. Thank you for your words of encouragement, John.

I feel as though I'm there, basking and swaying with the symphony. Very nice Jenna! Linda

Ahh such is the reward for a poet... being able to put a reader into the scene. Thanks a lot, Linda.

I live close to the sea, you have captured it well with your poetry, dear poet...and yes the sunsets look like the picture you posted, in fact, my avatar was taken from down the street

Not living near the sea, it's a bit hard for me to do, but there are instrumentals of waves lapping the shore. If I close my eyes I can picture the scene, like the one shown here. It's one of those tranquil places of escape. Thanks for finding this one soothing.
