Heads or tails, either way we lose
Fears and desires, make us tumble
Thwarted by ego spawned ruse
Born free, we imprison ourself
That’s the way the cookie crumbles
Thus aphorism ‘know thyself’
Be now still, ceasing to grumble
Drawn to illusions, we stumble
Endless craving, desirous spree
That’s the way the cookie crumbles
The void of silence, sets us free
To rhythm divine, heart gyrates
No longer bumble and fumble
Love beckons; for who do we wait
That’s the way the cookie crumbles
