remembering the loss of an unborn child I carried and the hope of seeing that child one day in the kingdom of God
On the day you received the big news, I sensed your joy, not sorrow or blues! Even though it was sooner than expected, You and I immediately became connected! I heard you and dad making big plans, I felt the warmth: When on your belly dad put his hands! I was to be your first child together, With three girls: I knew boy would feather! But I don’t think you really cared, Your love for me you voiced: You shared! I remember the day you heard my heartbeat, And how excited you were for us to meet! Tammy, Sue and little Holli, Were so excited, oh by golly! I thought of how one day we’d play, In a swing, they’d push, I’d sway! A few more weeks we got to share, Then suddenly, I saw you sitting on a chair! You didn’t feel good, and didn’t know why, But I had leave, without saying goodbye! Jesus called me before my time, So into his lap, I did climb! The day at the doctor, when you found out, Was the hardest day, as I looked about! You had now clue I had to go, On the screen, no movement show! I saw you tremble with great fear, While daddy held your hand, And pushed back his tear! I really can’t share about the reason, Yet, I know you hurt, in that season! God told me he would work it out, You all would be fine, without a doubt! That’s when I met my little brother, He said that you would soon be his mother! We shared a moment then I replied, Go and fill their heart, in love reside! I watched that day mom, when you gave birth, And in your face I saw such great mirth! I heard you speak out the baby’s name, Archie my brother, you eased their pain! Now this is for you, both mom and dad, Just a few things, I’d like to add. As the years slowly drift on by, We are getting closer to saying hi! I hope to meet you at the pearly gate, To guide you into God’s great estate! It is wonderful, and so am I, Just like there, God is always nigh! Until that day please remember, Your love still shines as a burning ember! Stacey Brown 1-9-14

I feel so connected with this poem. I have lost two pregnancies. I just felt like those babies were talking to me now through this poem. Though, it been six years now since I lost my last pregnancy. I am still waiting... Thanks for sharing.

Modupe, I am so sorry for you loss'. I know it is a very hard thing to go through but the hope we have in meeting those children one day has been a comfort to me as I hope for you as well. I pray in the name of Jesus that you will be able to carry to full term the child your heart desires. For I know it is God's will for you as well. I am ever so grateful God has used this poem to speak to you. love sent to you my poet friend
