Two Women on the Shore - Edvard Munch

there's always a hand in mine anchoring me solidly to the ground like additional gravity liable to crush my bones if a feather's weight were added though I don't fall into the ocean or float off with the clouds I'm not soothed but abraised agitation filing me away scattering me across the shoreline I avert my eyes, of course I do the waves crash and leave days turn to nights and I keep the peace my hand in yours

a beautiful poem describing the painting. I like what you've done with this form...you're good at it, sincerely. The last two lines tugged at my heart. This poem is as artistic as the painting Nicely done, Di11y, hugs, Sara

Beautiful poetry. Though your title would be an ideal lead for a joke. "Two women were standing on a shore..."

Haha the jokes were definitely missing from this poem for sure... I wonder how many times Edvard had to politely laugh at that joke :) thank you for the compliment :)
