Treading Your Waters
I must learn to swim, without you.
I must hold my breathe, for one moment longer
My lungs and my depth, they need a moment longer
My feet, my heartbeat, exasperated
Encircling myself, waves encircling me
Am I alone while I am treading?
Am I alone while I am sinking?
Dry salt, parched, dry soul
My motion is treading, my body sinking
Dry hope, dry salt, parched soul
I must learn to swim, without you.
I must hold my breathe, for one moment longer
My lungs and my depth, they need a moment longer
I think I am ready to sink
