Tomorrow's Surprise
What's on the menu tomorrow?
Great joy or maybe great sorrow.
It could be something in between,
Even something I've never seen.
Life will seldom give any clues,
Some people win and others lose.
Some are willing to take a chance,
Others rely on happenstance.
Wouldn't it be better to know?
Wouldn't it help to make me grow?
Is it something already planned?
Maybe I'll never understand.
I guess the best thing I can do,
Always to thine own self be true.
So long as I see the sun rise,
All the rest can be a surprise.
