To the Youth Who Once Knew Hope-
I.
I sat below the pane and wondered why
The youth in the world know not hope-
Some children are so sad they wish to die,
Many have never learned from parents how to cope.
II.
So I take a breath and try to ease in slow,
Express all the emotions I feel inside-
All the times life took me undertow,
Feel lost for all the children that wish to hide.
CHORUS.
O, are there answers to questions I ask?
Like when will youth learn right from wrong-
In my little bubble of compassion, I bask,
And for all of the children, I sing this song.
Yeah, I sing to you this song; for life was good to me all along-
It can be great for all of you…you each can live in harmony with me too.
III.
May each child born in poverty see wealth,
The kind that fulfills a heart with love-
May all the youth in disease find good health,
And see the Lord has blessed them from above.
IV.
I can see the potential in each of you,
Feel the power of faith in all that is right-
Embracing that unity is our glue,
And laughter can bring the utmost light.
CHORUS.
O, are there answers to questions I ask?
Like when will youth learn right from wrong-
In my little bubble of compassion, I bask,
And for all of the children, I sing this song.
Yeah, I sing to you this song; for life was good to me all along-
It can be great for all of you,
You each can live in harmony with me too-
Just believe in what is real...and you too can feel what I feel.
