To My Fourth Grade Teacher

When I'm feeling a bit put down And the best I can muster, is a pitiful frown I hold in my hand a gift given me By a special person, I'm sure you'll agree It's not much to most people No, no value as such But to me, just me, It has always meant so much. It was a simple thing it seemed But thoughtful beyond measure A Buck Eyed Chestnut from her tree And to me a life's treasure. I still have it , It's on my desk, Thank You B Shaw

G'day Jerry … you jogged my memory Mate. My wife had a hernia operation and I gave plastic flowers from a gift shop. 40 years later we still have them - thanks Jerry - Lindsay
