To a Cedar

I had nearly forgotten who I was Until I sensed your easy strength and heard the timelessness of your years; Until I caught the sparkle of your lacy light and showered in your fragrance Until I recognized your verdancy jumping the primal circuit.

Love this, Carol. Our communion with nature brings peace and confidence not only in ourselves, but also in our Creator. An easy seven for me.

You have a fresh pen, Carol. I like your style...not complicated, but needing a second read for assurance. The words that describe how you shower in the tree's fragrant light are very striking. #7 // paul

Thank you for the encouraging feedback, Paul. This poem was written about 35 years ago and read by me innumerable times, so it's hard for me to see it with fresh eyes. Carol
