Those Two

The Newest VA, didn't make me pay, Made me jump higher for joy, going outside to play. Some out there, don't get the free ride. Never walking the walk, side by side. The chosen few, now missing parts of minds, bodies and limbs, sacrificed it all. So family and friends, wouldn't have to visit spirits, in church pews. Can't we get behind the ball, Recognizing it is them, who took the fall. Why isn't there, more of us, getting out to visit and support those, who can no longer walk. Instead of idle hands, and meaningless talk. Why so hard to get trust and signatures, to win an important race. Hunting down the ignorant and complacent, needing to get in their face. Shouldn't the men and women tasked to serve, Give their best, without someone losing their nerve. Can they take the blinders off, and have no fear. Realizing not sweating the small stuff, could prevent more tears. Look inside yourselves, healthy peers, Not at an outsider sent to illuminate. The chosen few, their hearts losing, one battle to fate. Even so, unable to walk, and sometimes not able to talk, their spirits lead the way. Can two in Washington, see their sun, rising today?
