Thorns of Your Love

So sweet was your love So sweet I did not feel its thorns You speared me too deep Yet at your soft petals my head I laid So sweet was your love So sweet it blinded me from your flaws Like a lost sheep I walked in dazed Barefooted on a lane of hot coals Was it love that blinded me so? That numbed me to all sorts of pain All I could feel was your love so deep I kept coming for more despite the pain I could never let go of your hand My eyes remained glued to your face Mesmerized by your everlasting grace While you tore me layer by layer These thorns of your love Pricked me in many places Yet yours was the sweetest of pains I still yearn for you regardless
