The Wolf
A wolf slides silently thru the black
night
The moon and stars offer only a
filtered light
Off in the distance a fire is seen
to burn
The roasting of meat causes the
wolf to turn
Closer to the aroma she brings
herself near
Which shall triumph a wolf's
hunger or fear
The humans that are placed
around the fire
Have covered their bodies with
wolf fur, their attire
Is she wondering will they try
taking her fur as well?
Twenty thousand years on…no
change but guns to kill
