The Story of Your Life

When you were young And you played ball in the backyard Before the jerks and the skirts And you smoked your first cigarette. And what you saw at night Before the freaks and The losses of speech and the campfires After the dawn but way before You moved on to lay in this bed Did you ever think of me? Did you look down at the page and see me? What will you write when you write The story of your life?

i feel nostalgic.. how we all felt this way but forgot it in our struggle to be cold and detached as we grew up.. thank you for articulating what many of us had forgotten to feel...
