The Storm

On a rough and rocky shore, Standing barefoot by the sea; She listens to the water Crash against her memory. Longing for his arms again, Safe from harm in bitter cold; She is hoping that the wind Won't confirm the stories told. Desperate prayers are always heard In a raging winter storm. And his tears will blend with hers, When they both are free and warm. She will go to him she swears, If he can't come back to her. Together meant forever; Lifeless in the things that were. All her thoughts are filled with grief. All her dreams have disappeared. Reaching hopelessly for love, In the mist of what is feared. Waves are crashing on the rocks. Wind is blowing through her hair. As she hears the voice of God, Come in answer to her prayer. "THERE IS NOTHING GAINED IN DEATH." "HE IS GONE BUT YOU MUST STAY." She turns from the lonely shore. But, the storm sweeps her away.

oh my gosh, that last line is a real twist on the story. So she is gonna stay but she still gets swept away.. Wow, this was very good to read. It kept my interest and was a well crafted poem, my friend.

Thank you, Andrea. I surely do appreciate that. I'm so happy you got it. My idea was that these souls were meant to be together and her decision to stay is what brought them together again. I just figured that thee Lord works in mysterious ways. Your comments and insight is always welcome, my friend.... Robert.

A fantastic write my friend. Life is often a storm. Yet we live for when it is not. Says so very much and does so in a way that admits reality isn't always gentle or kind. BBBravoooooo!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful write, Robert. I see in it the importance of not taking our destiny into our own hands but leaving it to God. He knows best.
